Plenary Talks
The MCMC´2006 program includes six Plenary Talks given by distinguished speakers. The first set of three Plenary Talks is centered around the themes of Ship Control, Marine Navigation, and Cooperative Control of Multiple Vehicles. The second set departs from the more classical set-up that is commonly adopted in conferences: it aims to bring an historical perspective to the research and development efforts in the general area of navigation, guidance, and control of marine craft. Selected speakers will brief us on the Past, Present, and Future of marine craft, starting with the challenging problems of navigation in the 15th-16th centuries and leading to a vision of what lays ahead of us as autonomous marine craft steadily become the tool par excellence for ocean exploration and exploitation.
