Final PDF Paper Preparation
Authors are kindly requested to must submit their papers in Portable Document Format (PDF) format electronically, via web upload. Please follow the instructions closely. Because standards required for publication of the official Conference Proceedings by Elsevier Ltd. must be met, papers that do not meet the final format requirements may be refused publication and therefore be rejected. However, the Organizing Committee will to its utmost to assist the authors in complying with the requirements.
- The final version of your manuscript must be submitted no later than July 24, 2006.
- Only papers submitted in PDF format will be considered. Please Do NOT submit files in Word or similar formats. Authors should not use any file protection that would prevent us from printing or introducing headers and page numbers. Do NOT use Acrobat Writer V3, otherwise some of the search operations performed on the Proceedings CD-ROM may not locate your paper.
- Make sure that all fonts used in your PDF file are embedded, to guarantee correct appearance of the contents. Also, please do NOT use any non-Latin based character packages, such as for example Chinese or Japanese packages.
When submitting the final version of the paper, authors are invited to introduce, in text format, a revised (and extended) version of the paper abstract. This is the version that will appear in the MCMC´2006 Book of Abstracts. The Abstract should not exceed 1000 characters (with spaces). To insert the Abstract, please use the button Change Data in the Paper Management System, together with Paper # and Password. In case a new abstract is not inserted, the abstract submitted during the paper registration phase will appear in the Book of Abstracts.
Instructions for formatting your paper
Accepted papers must comply with the standard IFAC conference format and MUST NOT exceed 6 two-column pages. Detailed formatting instructions can be found at the IFAC Publications Website. The following links provide

Registration
Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the MCMC´ 2006 to present their work. Accepted papers can only be included in the (CD-ROM) pre-prints if at least one of the authors registers by July 24, 2006. Instructions for the registration will be available at this website soon. Only papers that are presented at the MCMC 2006 will be included in the final Proceedings to be published by Elsevier Science.
Each paper can be uploaded more than once before the deadline of July 24, 2006 since only the last version will be considered.
To upload the final paper version, please use the username and password that were assigned to you. Should you have problems retrieving this information, please contact the MCMC´2006 Secretariat (mcmc2006@isr.ist.utl.pt).
Copyright Conditions
The material submitted for presentation at an IFAC meeting (Congress, Symposium, Conference, Workshop) must be original, not published or being considered elsewhere. All papers accepted for presentation will appear in the Preprints of the meeting and will be distributed to the participants. Papers duly presented at the Congress, Symposia and Conferences will be archived and offered for sale, in the form of Proceedings, by Elsevier Ltd., Oxford, UK. In the case of Workshops, papers duly presented will be archived by IFAC and may be offered for sale, in the form of Proceedings, by Workshop organizers. The presented papers will be further screened for possible publication in the IFAC Journals (Automatica, Control Engineering Practice, Annual Reviews in Control, Journal of Process Control, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Mechatronics), or in IFAC affiliated journals. All papers presented will be recorded as an IFAC Publication.
Copyright of material presented at an IFAC meeting is held by IFAC. Authors will be sent a copyright transfer form. The IFAC Journals and, after these, IFAC affiliated journals have priority access to all contributions presented. However, if the author is not contacted by an editor of these journals within three months after the meeting, he/she is free to re-submit the material for publication elsewhere. In this case, the paper must carry a reference to the IFAC meeting where it was originally presented.
